HER STORY

Fleur arrived at the pound at the beginning of February. We hoped her owner would come forward to reclaim her, but sadly nobody came for her.

A veterinary examination confirmed that Fleur has an eye condition which has affected her sight. Being partially sighted can make an unfamiliar and busy environment particularly difficult, and life in a kennel can be stressful for any dog. For Fleur, the noise, activity and unfamiliar surroundings can be especially overwhelming.

Fleur has also tested positive for Leishmaniasis and means she will need to be on a daily tablet which is an inexpensive medication. Otherwise she is in good health. Her future family will need to be committed to following veterinary advice and providing the calm, stable environment that will help her manage her condition.

Despite everything, Fleur remains a sweet and gentle girl. She is friendly with other dogs and has met the cats at the pound, where she was respectful towards them.

At approximately 19kg, Fleur is a lovely medium-sized girl. She is microchipped, vaccinated and has a passport.

She may need a little more understanding than some dogs, but Fleur isn’t looking for sympathy. She needs someone willing to give her security, patience and the opportunity to become the happy companion she deserves to be.

A GENTLE GIRL WAITING FOR SOMEWHERE TO BELONG

Fleur is a beautiful, sweet-natured girl who has been through more uncertainty than any dog should have to face. Now she is hoping someone will look beyond her difficulties and see the gentle, loving companion waiting to be cherished.

A QUIET GIRL WAITING TO FEEL SAFE

Fleur is a gentle soul who simply wants to feel safe and surrounded by kindness.

Although the world around her can sometimes be confusing, particularly because of her reduced sight, she has remained sweet and approachable. She enjoys human companionship and has shown a lovely ability to remain calm and respectful around other animals.

For Fleur, the right home could make an enormous difference. A peaceful environment, a predictable routine and people who understand her needs would give her the opportunity to relax, build confidence and discover how wonderful life can be outside the pound.
