HER STORY
Gertie has found the shelter environment difficult. Rather than joining in with the other dogs, she chooses to stay quietly in the background and largely keeps to herself.
She causes no trouble and is beautifully behaved, but her withdrawn nature tells us that kennel life is simply not where Gertie feels comfortable. She desperately needs the security of a home where she can relax and begin to understand that people can be trusted.
Gertie doesn’t need to be pushed or rushed. She needs someone willing to give her time.
GERTIE – A QUIET LITTLE SOUL WAITING TO FEEL SAFE
Gertie is a very shy young girl who has spent her time at the shelter quietly keeping herself in the background. She is not the sort of dog who pushes forward for attention or demands to be noticed. In fact, Gertie is so quiet that the staff have rarely even heard her bark.
She is a gentle, well-behaved little sweetheart who simply doesn’t seem comfortable in a busy kennel environment. Gertie keeps herself to herself and doesn’t seek out interaction or play with the other dogs. What she really needs now is the chance to leave the shelter behind and discover that life can be calm, safe and full of kindness.
FROM THE SHADOWS INTO THE LIGHT
For Gertie, finding a home isn’t simply about having somewhere to live — it is about finally having someone who will take the time to help her feel secure.
Behind her quiet nature is a young dog who deserves the opportunity to build confidence at her own pace. With patience, reassurance and a loving family beside her, Gertie can begin to learn that she no longer needs to hide away from the world.
