HIS STORY

Larry endured a very difficult start in life that left both physical and emotional scars.

When he first arrived in our care, it was clear that life had not been kind to him. An early veterinary examination and X-rays revealed multiple shotgun pellets still present in his body, a heartbreaking reminder of the cruelty he had experienced before rescue.

Further investigation also showed that Larry had suffered a broken leg in the past which had healed without proper treatment. As a result, he has a slight limp. Importantly, the injury is fully healed, he uses the leg, requires no further treatment, and is not in pain.

The emotional wounds took even longer to heal than the physical ones. Larry arrived lacking confidence and struggling to trust people, his spirit clearly broken by what he had endured.

Over the months, with patience, kindness, structure, and daily routines, Larry has slowly rediscovered the joy that every dog deserves. One of the most special milestones was seeing him wag his tail again — something that had disappeared during the darkest period of his life.

Today, Larry continues to grow in confidence every day. While he can still be a little shy when meeting new people, he quickly warms up with a gentle approach, a lead, and a few tasty treats.

His transformation has been remarkable, and now this brave, gentle boy is finally ready to find the loving forever family he has waited so long for.
