HIS STORY

Ronnie is believed to be around 1–2 years old. He and his friend Reggie, a Yorkshire Terrier, wandered into a couple’s garden and quickly made themselves comfortable. When the homeowners returned, they found the pair happily relaxing on the sunbeds as though they had always lived there.

Despite being shared on local lost dog groups, nobody came forward to claim them. Neither Ronnie nor Reggie was microchipped, and both were brought safely into the care of AA Dog Rescue.

Ronnie is now living in one of our experienced multi-dog foster homes, where he is slowly learning what life as a loved family dog is all about. Initially, he was a little nervous of coming indoors, suggesting he may never have experienced life inside a home before. He can still become worried by sudden movements and unfamiliar situations, and it is possible that his past experiences were not always positive.

Despite this, Ronnie has shown remarkable resilience. He is already playing with a resident dog, enjoys the comfort of the sofa and sleeps peacefully through the night. He loves his food and is currently fed using a slow feeder as he tends to eat very quickly. He is also beginning to understand what treats are and is gaining confidence with every new experience.

Ronnie will need patient adopters who understand that trust takes time, but his progress so far has been wonderful to see.

Secure garden boundaries and careful front door management will be essential in his new home.
